对钢丝缠绕增强塑料复合管的短期爆破压力、应变、临界失稳压力和不同温度下的失效形式等进行了系统的试验研究。结果表明,与相同规格尺寸的PE管相比,其短期爆破压力、环向刚度和临界失稳压力分别提高了 129%、19%和57%;在内压作用下这种复合管有韧性破坏和过度变形两种失效模式,温度低于45℃时为韧性破坏,温度高于45℃时为过度变形;在相同压力下仅受径向内压作用时这种复合管的径向膨胀率明显高于径向轴向同时受力时的径向膨胀率。
