Not long ago, we received a telephone call from a reader in Chengxian County, Shaanxi Province, saying that the ranunculus he had cultivated in his home was dug by the local public security bureau as a poppy. The surrounding florists and neighbors also had the same experience. Annoyed desperation, he called the magazine, want to prove the difference between the two. In the past, there were people who used to confuse Papyrus, Oriental poppy and drug poppy. We feel it necessary to publish an article that identifies the similarities and differences between the four grass species. Although we have published articles on the differences between poppy and poppy as early as the 9th issue of 2003, it is clear that many of my friends have not read or been impressed. To this end, we specifically invited the Chinese Botanical Garden, Beijing Botanical Garden grass flower expert Long Ya Yi wrote this article, to face the hearing, to avoid such “reoccurrence of misconduct” in the future.
