Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, NAFLD) in the world population incidence increased year by year, becoming a new global public health issues, has drawn increasing clinical attention. The incidence of insulin resistance as the basis, and obesity, dyslipidemia, essential hypertension, type 2 diabetes and other metabolic syndrome components are closely related. NAFLD can progress to liver cirrhosis, liver failure and even liver cancer, accompanied by one or more components of the metabolic syndrome may accelerate the progress of the disease. NAFLD early is a reversible process, to fully understand the occurrence and development of related metabolic risk factors and promptly corrected, may lead to the reversal of disease or delay its process. This article reviews the related investigation of NAFLD and metabolic syndrome components.
