江苏省是我国工农业最发达的地区之一,但煤炭供需矛盾极为突出。予测到1990年,煤炭需求量将达3970万吨,到2000年将达5840万吨,比1980年的实际供应量分别增长74％和156％。预计到1990年全省煤炭产量可超过2000万吨,到2000年计划要求达到3200万吨,剔去洗耗、自用、自销外,1900年的商品煤仅为1600万吨,缺煤2400万吨,
