Known in the general laboratory as the Vickers hardness test (denoted by Ho or Hv) is a method of determining the hardness of a diamond pyramid pressed against the material being tested at an angle of 136 ° on opposite sides. Using this method, the indentation obtained is square, so diagonal determination can be very accurate (easier than the diameter of the standard), while avoiding the Brinell hardness test deformation of the ball the shortcomings, because of Load and indentation diagonal ratio changes in load, still remain unchanged, so the test can be based on the need to load in a larger range of increase or decrease.
