In Japan, where earthquake-prone areas are prone, nuclear engineers always design earthquake-resistant nuclear power plants. However, in order to ensure that the design is accurate, they will use the allegedly the world’s largest seismic simulation equipment to test the same physical plant model. These tests are designed to show the public that nuclear power plants, which account for 25% of Japan’s electricity, are safe and secure and that the Japanese government hopes to increase this figure to 35% in the next 10 years. The 10-year period is the same size or phase as the actual nuclear reactor
