昆虫是动物界中最大的类群，现存的种类超过100万种，其中约90万种已被描述，且每年以7000种的速度递增。我国昆虫资源卡相当丰富，约占世界昆虫总数的10％，其中药用的有蜚蠊目、螳螂目、同翅目等13个目200～300种。
