长白山,在满民族的心目中,是无比神圣的山,是他们的发祥地。史籍记载,自中原地区的周代,满族的初民肃慎人,就繁衍生息于长白山周边的广袤地域。始见于春秋时期的地理著作《山海经》,明确地证实“东北海之外,……大荒之中有山名不咸,有肃慎之国”。其中所说的不咸山,即现在的长白山。在长白山区,至今尚存的金代女真族祭天祭祖遗址,以及与满族民间“三仙女生布库里雍顺”美妙传说相印证的“天女躬浴池”等等,也生动而确切地说明了,一代又一代的满族祖先,是怎样地景仰着这座在东北亚地区独钟天地灵秀的“果勒敏珊延阿林”
