On oxide catalysts, different adsorption states of oxygen have been hypothesized and discussed by many scholars. All of these assumptions and discussions have been lacking in experimental verification. Recently, the use of paramagnetic resonance method to study the adsorption of oxygen in different states of TiO 2, obtained two signals. They think this is caused by O_2 ~ - and O ~ -, providing direct experimental evidence of two negative charges on the surface of TiO_2 catalysts.
