Objective To understand and discuss the current occupational stress and mental health status of neurological nurses, find out the possible correlations and analyze the related influencing factors. So as to reduce the occupational stress of neurology nurses, reduce mental health diseases and improve the quality of life and work to provide a theoretical basis. Methods A total of 191 neurology nurses in 4 tertiary hospitals in Xi’an were surveyed by questionnaire of general situation, revision table of occupational stress in Chinese version and general situation questionnaire, and the corresponding questionnaire scores were obtained. According to the questionnaire score using different statistical methods to analyze different categories, summed up and summarized. Results The total score of occupational stress in neurology nurses was (399.93 ± 16.34) points, higher than the score of domestic medical staff (P <0.01). The general score was (13.65 ± 3.54) points, higher than that of domestic women (P <0.01). The level of occupational stress is closely related to mental health. A number of factors may lead to mental health related problems and diseases. In the occupational stress factors that affect mental health, the three main factors that play a major role are the heavy workload, the task conflict and the working environment (P <0.05). Among them, over-work is the most important factor (P = 0.000). CONCLUSIONS: Compared to normal levels, neurological nurses are at a higher level of stress and mental health problems at work. If not effectively controlled, they can lead to serious mental health problems. Targeted interventions should be taken to effectively reduce their stress Level, improve work and quality of life.
