SS_1型电力机车在使用过程中,两位置转换开关的烧损及牵引电动机环火时有发生,导致机车造成机破、临修,影响铁路安全正点运行。根据我段统计:自1981年到1989年因两位置转换开关烧损平均每年六台次之多。严重者两位置转换开关烧损而报废,牵引电动机进行大修;轻者更换其触指和转鼓,静动触头间放电,按装板烧损,牵引电动机轻微环火等;使运用效率降低,既增加了机车库停时间又浪费财力物力。为了解决这一问题,各电力机务段在操纵上均采取了不少措施,但是两位置转换开关的烧损及牵引电动机环火仍然不断发生,需要认真分析,采取必要的改进措施。
