The authors looked at 43 infants (IDM) born to diabetic mothers from March 1987 to September 1988 to understand the association between chronic intrauterine hypoxemia and indirect iron status at birth and to identify IDM fetuses Iron distribution. The results showed that 15 infants (35%) had no serum iron abnormalities, serum ferritin, serum iron, erythrocyte free protoporphyrin (FEP) and total iron binding capacity (Dallman 0). Twenty-eight infants (65%) had iron-producing abnormalities at birth: 8 cases in stage 1 (serum ferritin <60 μg / L with or without serum iron <18 μmol / L) / L and decreased in combination with satiety iron), and stage III (FEP> 126μg / dl, with significant destruction of erythropoiesis). The average birth weight of 43 infants was 3940 ± 730 g.The average gestational age was 38 ± 1 week, and the abnormal serum iron test rates for IDM greater than gestational age (LGA) and for gestational age (AGA) were 15/19 (79 %) And 13/24 (54%), P = 0.08; new
