“重修尼山聖廟之碑”是民國十四年(1925)孔氏族人爲記載重修尼山孔廟之事所立。本文在補録殘缺碑文的基礎上,聯繫孔府衰落和孔廟被踐踏以及全國反孔的背景,考察碑文所提及修葺聖廟的相關人物,藉以透視民初孔教會組織活動。在民初民族與文化的“雙重危機”下,孔教會一直秉承“昌明孔教、救濟社會”的宗旨,吸引了來自政界、軍界、學界、商界等不同領域人員的加入,並進行修繕聖廟之類的社會行動。對於挽救儒家文化的衰落之勢、抵制片面西化思潮起到了一定
