December 21, 2011 is a historic day for Shanghai’s catering industry. The two Shanghai associations, Shanghai Cuisine Association and Shanghai Restaurant Association, were approved by the Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Municipal Bureau of Social Organizations for merger and reorganization as the Shanghai Catering Industry Association.
