詩詞唱和從本質上來說是一種文學交往行爲,且是複合型的文學交往行爲。其中唱和夥伴兼任創作者與接受者的文學職能,比單向度的文學交往活動更有利于文學的創造和再創造、發展和演進,也更有利于擴大文學的聲勢和影響。唱和活動的交往手段是詩詞作品,因此唱和之作受到交往關係的限制,和作必須與唱作具有關聯性。和意、和韻都是唱和作品關聯性的體現,對和韻之作未可一味否定。唱和夥伴的文學交往與日常交往分別構成唱和的文學環境與生活環境,二者相互作用、相互影響。生活環境對文學環境的積極作用在于可以建構和擴大優雅文學環境,消極作用在于過分干預文學環境,使唱和之作淪爲應酬之作。文學環境對生活環境的積極作用在于其可以超越生活、改善生活,消極作用在于消磨人的社會責任感。
