The vitality of Chinese contemporary art since the 1990s has opened the door to the opening of Chinese art to international markets. However, the glory of a few well-known artists attracted the Western public’s view, to some extent, to cover up the diversity and complexity of Chinese art. The participants in the art market and the art institutions are often attracted by the artistic ideology reflecting contemporary ideology. In particular, this art image is popularized by pop art and thus becomes more understandable and more easily accepted by the West.
