Because most of his works are based on his sailing experience, mostly dominated by male characters, Conrad is often accused of ignoring women for his work. Some radical feminists even consider him an ultra-macho writer with “misogyny.” This article is devoted to interpreting Joseph Conrad’s great work Dark Heart from a positive perspective to prove that he is a male writer who holds the view of fairness and defends Conrad. Hopefully, through the research in this article, it shows that some scholars misunderstand Conrad. The true Conrad is a great writer who cares about the living conditions and social status of women.
