Recently, political economists have portrayed the Internet as a rather negative image, calling it a place to promote free emotional labor in advanced forms. They blame Facebook and other social networking sites for their “commoditization.” Starting from another interpretation of Marx, this article challenges these criticisms of the Internet. This critical constructivist interpretation is the universal promotion of the four methodological principles from Marx. Marx applied these four principles to the factory - the main place of the technical intermediary of his time. Today, technology has become an intermediary for a wider range of different social relationships. Therefore, these principles must be promoted to cover the entire social dimension.
