五味子(Kadsura chinensis拉丁语Kad-sura Berries)属木兰科常绿灌木。中国古籍最早记于神农本草经:“皮肉甘酸,核中辛苦,而俱有碱味,五味俱备故名。”产于南方诸省者称南五味子,产于北方及日本、朝鲜、苏联者名北五味子,药用五味子果实,含有Mucilage等。文献记载最先在神农本草经中列为下品:“主益气……补不足,强阴益男子精,”别录曰:“养五脏,生阴中肌。”唐、甄权药性本草曰:“补虚劳,令人体悦泽。”宋、大明日华诸家本草:
The schisandra (Kadsura chinensis Latin Kad-sura Berries) is an evergreen shrub of Magnoliaceae. The earliest Chinese ancient books were recorded in the Shen Nong’s Materia Medica: “The flesh and downy roots have a hard taste in the nucleus, but both have alkaline taste and are full of flavors.” Produced in the southern provinces, they are known as the southern Schisandra, produced in the north and Japan, North Korea, and the Soviet Union. The famous schisandra chinensis, medicinal Schisandra fruit, contains Mucilage and so on. The literature records were first listed in Shennong’s Materia Medica as the following product: “The main Qi Qi ... make up for deficiency, strong yin-yi men’s fine,” do not record chanting: “to raise five internal organs, to produce yin and muscle.” : “Supplement of labor, it is good for the body.” Song and Daming Japanese and Chinese Materia Medica:
