柳公权是中国书法史上屈指可数的楷书宗师之一。其所创制的柳体楷书风格强烈,法度森严,奄有众美,自成一家,与颜真卿并称为“颜柳”而为后世景仰,成为人们学习的楷范。然而从古至今,人们对柳公权的书法多局限于临仿,很少进行较为全面系统的研究,乃至今天对柳公权书法仍没有一个比较完整、清晰的认识。言柳书者,极称“柳骨”;举柳迹则仅为《玄秘塔碑》、《神策军碑》及名为唐拓实为伪托的《金刚经碑》;论柳之为人,则又只是斤斤乐道于“笔谏穆宗”这一近于郢书燕说的佳话了。这是一个缺憾。今将笔者对柳公权书法的考察略陈于下,以就
