Objective: To evaluate the correlation between the expression of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) and the clinicopathological parameters in breast invasive ductal carcinoma. Methods: The expression of STAT3 in 129 cases of invasive ductal breast cancer with complete clinicopathological data was detected by immunohistochemistry. Chi-squire analysis was performed by one-way correlation analysis. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between multivariate logistic regression and Multinomial logistic analysis. In invasive ductal carcinoma, the expression of STAT3 was the most closely related factor. Linear regression was used to quantitatively analyze the close relationship between STAT3 and clinicopathological parameters. Results: Chi-squire analysis showed that age, T stage, N stage, TNM stage, Ki-67 expression, VEGF-C expression and VEGF-D expression were correlated with STAT3 expression in invasive ductal carcinoma tissues. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis VEGF-C expression, VEGF-D expression, N stage and age at surgery were independent correlates of STAT3 expression in invasive ductal carcinoma; Multinomial logistic analysis confirmed that VEGF-D had the lowest AIC and BIC values As the most influential factor for STAT3 expression. Spearman analysis and linear regression analysis showed that the expression of STAT3 in cancer tissues was significantly and linearly correlated with the expression of VEGF-D. Conclusion: The expression of STAT3 in invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast is significantly correlated with the expression of VEGF-D, which may be one of the mechanisms of lymph node metastasis in invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast.
