2004年3月,在北京和上海的车展上,北方尼奥普兰和金华尼奥普兰分别推出了1辆基本源自于欧洲的13.7m的超大型3轴客车。这种超大型的新车(3轴车)刚一推出,就吸引了许多业界人士和媒体的目光。其实,本刊早在2004年第2期就发表过关于此类客车的报道《究竟选择谁?》,并且本刊还在2004年第4期再次做过相关报道。据悉,我国以前的汽车标准限定客车(单节)总长不能超过12m,而2004年4月28日公布的《道路车辆外廓尺寸、轴荷及质量限制》国家强制性标准,则在原有2轴客车基础上增加了3轴客车一项,并将3轴客车的最大长度放宽到13.7m。看来,厂家在标准未颁布之前就推出此类产品是有备而来,另悉,有些厂家在标准未公布之前看到这类客车之后也想跟进。但无论是13.7m的客车,还是其他大于12m的客车,都将采用3轴和后轮转向作为技术关口,突破这个关口是易是难?开发之后在中国是不是能有市场?这都不是一句两句能够回答的。
