艾格尼丝·史沫特莱,美国著名记者、作家和社会活动家,一个杰出的与众不同的女性。1892年,史沫特莱出生于美国密苏里州的奥斯古德。早年当过侍女、烟厂工人和书刊推销员。曾在《纽约呼声报》任职。1918年因声援印度独立运动而被捕入狱六个月。1919年起侨居柏林八年,积极投身印度民族解放运动,曾在柏林会见尼赫鲁。1928年年底来华,在中国一待就是十二年。抗战初、中期,她目睹了日本对中国的侵略,向世界发出了正义的声音。
Agnes Smedley, a famous American journalist, writer and social activist, is a distinguished and unique woman. In 1892, Smedley was born in Osgood, Missouri. Early maid, cigarette factory workers and book salesman. Served in New York Voice. In 1918, he was arrested and sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for supporting India’s independence movement. In 1919 he lived in Berlin for eight years and actively joined the Indian National Liberation Movement. He met Nehru in Berlin. The end of 1928 to China, one in China is twelve years. During the early and mid-anti-Japanese war, she witnessed Japan’s aggression against China and sent a just voice to the world.
