The “writhing reaction” is a kind of intermittent motility reaction caused by intraperitoneal injection of certain drugs to mice or rats. It shows abdominal contraction, the anterior abdominal wall clinging to the cage, the crooked hips and the trunk hindlimb stretching A special gesture Foreign generally known as “Writhing”, also known as “Stretching”, “Cramping”, or “Squirming.” The mechanism of this reaction and its pharmacological significance have not been determined. As analgesics may respond to the machine, it has been suggested as a method of screening analgesics. The purpose of this experiment is to study the mechanism of “writhing response” and to explore its possible pharmacological significance.
