进行进化观点的教育生物课的特点之一是要向学生讲解形形色色的生物。例如在初中植物学中要讲解藻类植物、菌类植物、地衣植物、苔藓植物、蕨类植物、种子植物(包括裸子植物和被子植物)。教师不但要使学生理解以上这些不同类群的植物各有它们适应环境的结构特征,又要比较各类群之间的不同。它们虽然是千姿百态,结构各异,构成了丰富多彩的植物界,但整个植物界并不是杂乱无章的,而是越低等的植物结构越简单(如藻类植物),
One of the hallmarks of an educational biology class that makes evolutionary perspectives is to explain to students a wide variety of creatures.
