一天夜里,在西奥多·费士丽家的院子里出现了一道蓝色的光。这道光是从哪里来的?好奇的金妮和凯莉触摸了这道光,却被卷进了蓝光中——
圣诞梦境岛
Once(从前) there was a street called Fisholly Street. Theodore Fisholly’s family lived on this street. This was a poor family. Most people in the village* bought* their food. But Theodore’s family only(仅仅) had a small farm to grow corn(谷物).
Theodore had a huge(极大的) family. His wife* died of(死于) hunger(饥饿) a few years ago. Now Theodore lived with his six children: James, Kelly, Hedwig, Kevin, Eric and Ginny. James bullied* his little sisters and brothers, and Kelly protected(保护) them. Eric was the smartest, but he laughed at(嘲笑) everybody. Ginny was the youngest. She and Kelly were the best sisters.

It was two days before Christmas. Each(每个) family on Fisholly Street was happy and excited*. But the Theodore’s family wasn’t. Nobody could afford(买得起) to buy presents.
After breakfast Ginny followed(跟随) Kelly into her room. “Kelly,” Ginny said, “Christmas is coming, but we have nothing to give to anybody.” “Yes. But what can we do?” asked Kelly. “Hey!” a voice* came from the door. It was Eric. “I have a plan* to help my two stupid(愚蠢的) sisters!” He laughed. “We do not need(需要) your help!” Kelly was angry.

That night, Kelly woke* up and saw a blue light. She woke up Ginny. “See that light?” Kelly asked. “Is that Eric’s flashlight(手电筒)? He likes to trick(捉弄) us with it,” said Ginny. “No, he’s still in his bed. Let’s go out and see,” Kelly said.
They ran out of the house and found the blue light in their backyard(后院). “Hello! Is there anyone shining* the flashlight?” Kelly cried*. There was no reply(应答). Ginny walked to the light and touched* it. SWOOSH! Ginny was rolled into(卷入) the blue light! “Ginny! Ginny! Please come back!” Kelly cried with tears(眼泪). She touched the light and was rolled into the blue light too. Then the light disappeared(消失).

Kelly rolled(滚动) and rolled in the blue light. Suddenly(突然) she heard* a voice, “Welcome to Christmas Dream Land, Kelly!” Kelly looked up. It was Ginny!
In Christmas Dream Land, you have a pair of wings(翅膀). You can fly anywhere(任何地方). There are markets*, hotels*, party houses, farms and so on(等等). “And now, Kelly, we have 100 gold coins(金币). We can buy presents for our family. We can also go to the Wishing Tree.” Ginny said. “Wow! Let’s buy our presents first!” Kelly was excited.
Kelly and Ginny flew* to the market and bought many things. At last, they saved(省下) 30 coins to pay(支付) the Wishing Tree.

An hour later, Kelly and Ginny came to the Wishing Tree. An old face appeared(出现) on the tree. “What do you want, girls?” the tree asked. “We want to...” Ginny started* to speak. “Oh! It’s a WISH*! I know!” the Wishing Tree chuckled(咯咯笑).
“It is also called the Chuckling Smart Tree,” said a voice. Ginny and Kelly turned around(转身). “Nice to meet you! I am Myrtle.” Myrtle had short black hair. “Here is a poem(诗): Star light, Star bright*, First star I see tonight*, I wish I may, I wish I might, Have the wish I wish tonight. You need to read it.”
The two sisters read the poem together(一起). They both made the wish that their family would be rich and happy.

Suddenly they fell* out of the blue light and into Kelly’s bed.
When they opened their eyes, they saw their nice house, with golden(金色的) walls and a silver(银色的) ceiling(天花板)! There were many presents on the floor. Now they could give the presents to their family. It was Christmas Day! They spent* two days in Christmas Dream Land!
And Theodore’s family lived happily ever after(从此)...
