Since Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa proposed in his policy address the long-term development strategy of revitalizing the economy of Hong Kong through innovation and technology, the trend of using innovative technologies to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises is increasing in Hong Kong. Government agencies, research institutes and the business community are working together to make joint efforts. The situation has taken shape. SMEs play an important role in the economic development of Hong Kong. At present, there are 250,000 SMEs in Hong Kong, accounting for 98% of the total number of enterprises in Hong Kong. Most small and medium-sized enterprises that traditionally manage traditional businesses face the increasingly fierce market competition and the rapid development of high-tech industries around the world.
