Our previous work has seen that acupuncture can reduce the content of brain noradrenaline (NA); microinjection of NA into the ventricles can be synergistic with acupuncture analgesia; acupuncture with central NA release agent can significantly enhance acupuncture analgesia effect. These results suggest that acupuncture analgesia is closely related to NA metabolism in the brain.
