第一次世界大战是帝国主义列强之间重新瓜分世界,奴役“异族”,争夺海外殖民权益和世界霸权的战争。不论以英国为首的协约国集团,还是以德国为首的同盟国集团,都是一贯掠夺和奴役中国的侵略者。中国人民坚决反对这种奴役世界人民的掠夺战争。所以,对于中国政府和中国人民来说,没有必要去参加哪一方对另一方作战。但因统治中国的北洋军阀政府内部,各派势力都想借“参战”取得某一列强的援助,以巩固各自的权位;而外国侵略者也想利用对中国一派的支持,扩大其在华的殖民权益,增强对中国的政治影响,进而控制北京政权。这样,第一次世界大战期间,中国参战问题,便在北洋军阀内部,引起一场争斗,这场争斗的实质是帝国主义列强争夺在华权益相互角逐的反映。本文就这一问题作些初
The First World War was a war between the imperialist powers to re-divide the world, enslave “aliens”, compete for overseas colonial rights and world hegemony.
