《简·爱》是19世纪西方文坛上的一颗璀璨的明珠。它细腻的人物、环境描写和精妙的情节百年来一直让全世界的读者们为其动容,尤其是其结尾处令人痛惜的一场大火,让情节更为扑朔迷离,也让主人公的命运显得更加波折。但是,这场大火的安排是否还有作者的其他意图呢?它对于整个故事的影响又体现在哪些方面?本文就试图从桑菲尔德大火这个点来分析它对故事情节,人物刻画的积极作用,并通过“火”的意象来阐明它对于整个故事主题——爱情的永生的深化。
Jane Eyre is a bright pearl on the western literary world in the 19th century.
