美国总统布件在日前向国会提交的2007财政年度政府预算中,提出了将52架F-117A战斗机分两年全部退出现役的建议。按计划,美国空军在2007～2011年期间将退役33架U-2、38架C-21和约40%的B-52,以节省26亿美元军费用于采购F-22“猛禽”战斗机。
The U.S. President Clinton proposed in the government budget for fiscal 2007 submitted to the Diet a few days ago that all 52 F-117A fighters be withdrawn from active service in two years in active service. The U.S. Air Force is scheduled to retire 33 U-2, 38 C-21s and 40% B-52s between 2007 and 2011 to save $ 2.6 billion in military spending on the F-22 Raptor .
