Deciduous leaves can be postponed or reduced by applying potash fertilizer or spraying fungicides, but both must be used to achieve significant yield gains. Pick flowers can also prevent potassium deficiency and ring leaf spot disease. The differences in the susceptibility of cultivars are related to their sensitivity to low levels of available potassium.
