《牛津当代英语习语词典》导言中说:“熟悉大量的习惯用语,并能恰到好处地用于上下文,这是能象操本族语那样掌握英语的一个显著标志。,在英语中,习语的运用如此普遍,说话、写文章不用习语是很困难的。因此,习语学习应是词汇学习必不可少的一部分。 本文目的在于帮助那些英语为第二语言或外国语的教师准备英语习语教学的材料并提供教学活动方法。本文第一部分探讨了为什么第二语言中习语不易学习的原因。第二部分提供了五条标准,以确定该教哪些习语,因为讲授所有习语是不可能的。最后一部分列举了各种活动方式用以比较习语字面含义和喻意,从而引导学生正确理解并运用这些习语。
According to the Introduction to the Oxford Dictionary of Contemporary English Idioms: “Being familiar with a large number of idioms and being able to use them right in the context is a significant indicator of how English can be mastered like the native language.” In English, idioms Is so common that speaking and writing articles without idioms can be difficult.Therefore, idiom learning should be an integral part of vocabulary learning.The purpose of this paper is to help prepare teachers who use English as a second or foreign language to prepare English idioms Teaching materials and teaching methods.The first part of this article explores the reasons why idioms are not easy to learn in second language.The second part provides five criteria to determine which idioms should be taught because it is impossible to teach all idioms The last part lists various ways to compare the literal meaning and metaphor of idioms, so as to guide students to correctly understand and apply these idioms.
