3D打印技术是一种利用激光、电子束或其它手段逐层叠加而直接、快速、精确地制造出零件的方法。为逐步消除太空探索对地球的依赖,美国国家航空航天局(NASA)及美国太空探索技术公司等机构和企业分3个阶段开展了零重力环境下的3D打印技术的研究工作。其研究项目规模虽然不大,但对实现国际空间站上所需物资的自给自足、提高任务执行的可靠性和安全性,以及降低成本具有重要意义。
3D printing technology is a laser, electron beam or other means stacked layer by layer and direct, fast and accurate method of manufacturing parts. In order to gradually eliminate the dependence of space exploration on the earth, NASA and NASA have conducted research on 3D printing in zero-gravity environment in three stages. Although the scale of its research project is not large, it is of great significance to realize the self-sufficiency of the required materials on the ISS, enhance the reliability and safety of mission implementation, and reduce costs.
