A series of shallow-to-middle metamorphic clastic rocks and volcanic-lacustrine marble are distributed along the Tongtian-Jinshajiang River in the southern part of Qinghai Province and the northwestern part of Sichuan Province. The thickness is up to 8193m. In 1959, the expedition team of South-North Water Diversion Project of Academy of Sciences was named Tongtianhe Group. Since no reliable fossil was obtained, the era belonged to different understanding such as Early Paleozoic, Devonian and Permian. In 1970, the Geological Regiment of the Geological Bureau of Qinghai Province classified this formation into the Lower Permian Group 4, the volcanic clastic clastic rock group, which is divided into three lower rock units, namely the lower volcanic rocks and clastic rocks, the middle clastic rocks Rock and upper volcanic rocks, the integration between the three rock contact. No fossils were found in the section, and the northwest of Juewu Temple in Shiqu County, Sichuan Province is equivalent to the lower volcanic rocks and clastic rocks
