IBM 3370直接存取存贮器(DAS)在记录元件与磁盘表面之间,保持一个非常小的接近恒定的间隙,以获得高面密度的磁记录。为获得高的记录性能,在记录元件与旋转盘面之间当消除物理接触的同时,间隙必须小,为满足这些要求采用一种小的自动空气润滑浮动块轴承作为飞行器(Vehicle),以支承高于旋转盘面的磁记录头。“自动”术语一词涉及到在浮动块与盘之间建立增压的空气膜。由于旋转的盘片产生的空气流,使浮动块外形,逐步显现出压力,浮动块与盘的分界面处保持增压关系。
The IBM 3370 Direct Access Memory (DAS) maintains a very small, nearly constant gap between the recording element and the disk surface for high-density magnetic recording. To achieve high recording performance, the gap must be small between the recording element and the rotating disk surface while eliminating physical contact. To meet these requirements, a small, self-contained air-lubricated slider bearing is used as the vehicle to support high Magnetic head for rotating the disk surface. The term “automatic” relates to creating a pressurized air film between a slider and a disk. Due to the air flow generated by the rotating disk, the appearance of the slider gradually shows pressure, and the interface between the slider and the disk maintains a supercharged relationship.
