《蝴蝶君》的故事其实是围绕着自我装扮和表演展开的,自我装扮推动着情节的发展,揭示了人物身份的建构和转变。作者通过突出人物的自我装扮,改变了人物的刻板形象,赋予角色以生命力。这种自我装扮实质上是性别表演,是对西方主流文化中性别身份二元对立的反讽。
The story of “Butterfly King” actually revolves around self-dressing and performing. Self-dressing promotes the development of the plot and reveals the construction and transformation of the identity of the characters. By highlighting the self-make-up of characters, the author has changed the stereotype of characters and given them vitality. This kind of self-dressing is essentially a gender performance and an irony of binary opposition to gender identity in the mainstream Western culture.
