In our hospital from December 1969 to December 1986, a total of 508 patients with esophageal and cardiac cancers were treated, of which 390 were surgically removed. The following analysis of early postoperative complications is reported below. Clinical data of this group of 283 males and 107 females; aged 31 to 71 years old. There were 181 cases of esophageal cancer, 209 cases of cardiac cancer, 7 cases of death, and 2.26% mortality. In 390 cases, 56 cases of early postoperative complications occurred.
