Interlanguage, as the pragmatic component of sentences, has the important role of cohesive discourse and expressing the emotion and attitude of the speaker. In both Chinese and English, sentences do not exist in isolation. They are all in a certain context or discourse, and the intervening words link the context to each other. However, as an unstructured and non-grammatical category in sentences, it has always been overlooked by people. I compared and analyzed the characteristics and classification of the inserted words in English and Chinese so as to help the second language learners to master the complex forms and the subtle Insert words to help them speak more authentic language.
