Objective To detect the expression of Hypoxia inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) and Lysyl oxidase (LOX) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) To explore the role of the two in the occurrence, development and metastasis of NSCLC. Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the changes of HIF-1α and LOX in different clinicopathological features. Results The expression of HIF-1α and LOX in NSCLC tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent non-cancerous tissues, both of which were related to tumor size, lymph node metastasis and tumor stage (P <0.05), and there was a positive correlation between HIF-1α and LOX (P <0.05). Conclusions HIF-1α and LOX play an important regulatory role in the development and progression of NSCLC, which may contribute to the progress of NSCLC.
