1958 is a year of double bumper harvests for the work of our radio stations. How do we get this double harvest? In one sentence, we mean: Going deep into reality! The situation of great leap forward in industrial and agricultural production was pressing at the beginning of 1958. This situation makes us feel deeply that if we do not deepen our reality, our radio propaganda will certainly lag behind in reality. The provincial party committee also asked us to go on and off again and again and made a decision on establishing a radio reporter station in various places. In this way, we resolved to set forth a requirement of “one, two, three and eight” for the editors and broadcasters in Taiwan. This means that within one year, broadcasters should go to factories in the country for not less than one month, editors for no less than two months, editorial board for no less than three months and reporters for no less than eight months. This requirement can be accomplished. According to the statistics released by the end of August last year, each broadcaster has on average spent 31 days going to the countryside. The editorial department has an average of 40 days for each to go to the countryside. The average man goes to the countryside for 20 days. Eighty days. The editorial board go on fewer, the average person to the countryside forty-one days.
