Objective To investigate the radiation protection method of orbital low-dose CT scanning in 126 patients with orbital parts using the original machine standard conditions (130kV, 100mA), two different low-dose conditions (130kV, 50mA or 30mA) CT scanning was performed under different conditions and Kernel was used to reconstruct the images. The image quality and weighted CTDIw of different mA groups were compared. CTDIw was the smallest at 30mA, which was the same as that of conventional dose scanning (P <0.01). At 50mA, CTDIw was 50% of conventional dose scanning, and there was no significant difference in image quality between the two groups (P> 0.05). Conclusion Orbital low-dose (50mA) CT scan can guarantee the image quality of orbital lesions, but also reduce the patient’s radiation dose
