PURPOSE: To compare the effects of different taekwondo kicks and age (student grade) on the synthetic linear acceleration (RLA) measured with simulated human head devices in terms of absolute value and relative body mass. Methods: 48 male Tae Kwon Do athletes (junior high school, high school students and 16 college students) completed the turn of the adjustable height human head unit (Hybrid II), vacated the spin kick, Kick method each 10 times. RESULTS: Two-factorial (student grade x kicking) multivariate analysis of variance was used to analyze RLA differences for different student grades and kicks. There was no effect on the relative value of RLA and body mass (η ~ 2 = 0.06). CONCLUSION: There is no significant difference in RLA among different grades of students, which shows that the strength of juvenile Taekwondo athletes is similar to that of adult athletes, which may lead to the increased risk of head injuries for young athletes.
