《老人与海》是美国作家欧内斯特.海明威的一部代表作,极具海明威式的艺术风格和创作手法,自问世之初便广为流传,颇受欢迎。海明威凭该作荣获1954年诺贝尔文学奖之后一年,即由张爱玲女士在香港中一出版社出版首个中文译本。此后陆续推出了不下二十种中文译本,其中堪称经典的有1957年大陆学者朱海观译本以及之后译林出版社推出的吴劳译本。本文通过对以上三个译本中的措辞进行比较和分析,对各个译本的优点和不足之处作简单论述。 “The Old Man and the Sea” is a masterpiece by the American writer Ernest Hemingway. It is very popular with Hemingway-style art style and creative technique. One year after Hemingway won the 1954 Nobel Prize for Literature, Ms. Eileen Chang published the first Chinese version of the book in a Hong Kong First Press. Since then, there have been no fewer than 20 kinds of Chinese translations, including the classic 1957 mainland scholar Zhu Haiqian’s translation and later translated by Lin Publishing House. Through comparing and analyzing the wording in the above three versions, this article briefly discusses the advantages and disadvantages of each version.
