“宋元通宝”是赵宋开国后铸行的第一种钱(图左)。它制作精美,品类较多,彭信威据《文献通考》说“为四川雅州百丈县所铸,小样、广穿,数量不多”。而其他各钱监是否也铸此钱,未见记载。现将两枚不尽相同的广穿“宋元通宝”介绍于后,恭请同好与前辈赐教。Ⅰ型广穿“宋元通宝”(图中),钱径2.4,面穿0.9,背穿0.8,厚0.22厘米,重5.5克。其明显特征为广穿、厚肉,钱文笔划纤细,字口与郭好深峻,铜质细腻、光泽,制作精美,穿孔规整有明显的拔模斜度。根据以上特征,应为“铁母钱”,简称“铁母”。 “Song and Yuan Tongbao” is the first kind of money cast after the founding of the People’s Republic of China (left).
