不同民族有着不同的文化，不同文化之间既有联系，又有区别；既有共性，也有各自的个性或特性。共性构成了翻译的可行性与可能性，而个性在构成翻译必要性的同时，也造成了翻译中的障碍。个性形成了两种文化之间的差异，从而形成了翻译中的不完全或无对应现象；翻译等值只能是相对而言。本文拟从英汉两种语言中的文化因素，即原语与目的语之间的文化差异来探讨翻译相对等值问题。
Different ethnic groups have different cultures, and there are both connections and differences between different cultures; they have both commonalities and individualities or traits. Commonness constitutes the feasibility and possibility of translation. Individuality, meanwhile, constitutes the necessity of translation as well as obstacles in translation. Personality forms the difference between the two cultures, resulting in incomplete or non-corresponding phenomena in translation; the equivalent of translation can only be relative. This article intends to explore the relative equivalence of translations from the cultural factors in English and Chinese, that is, the cultural differences between the original language and the target language.
