作者对大理学院大学英语教师进行整体调查,试图揭示教师素质的真实状况和存在的问题,以对今后的大学英语教师培训和专业发展提供有意义的借鉴和参考。从外语学科教学能力,外语教师职业观与职业道德,外语教学观,外语教师学习与发展观等四个维度编制了调查问卷,实施调查后对数据进行统计分析。调查显示,该院拥有一支稳定的、富有进取心且热爱教学工作的大学英语教师队伍,他们大多富有高度的责任心,在课堂上与学生拥有良好的师生关系,总体语言知识技能较好。调查结果同时还暴露了一些问题,如教师总体学历偏低,科研能力较差,自我发展意识不足,等等。结果虽因调查对象所限而只反映了一所高校大学英语教师素质的基本情况,但并不妨碍其对国内其他院校尤其是少数民族地区高校有一定的借鉴意义。

The questionnaires were compiled from four dimensions: foreign language teaching ability, foreign language teacher occupation view and professional ethics, foreign language teaching view, and foreign language teacher learning and development view. After the survey, the data were analyzed statistically. The survey shows that the college has a steady and enterprising team of college English teachers who love teaching. Most of them have a high sense of responsibility and have good relationships with teachers and students in the classroom. The overall language knowledge and skills are good . The survey results also revealed some problems such as low overall academic qualifications of teachers, poor research capabilities, lack of self-development awareness, and so on. Although the result of the investigation only reflects the basic situation of the quality of university English teachers in a university, it does not prevent it from being useful to other colleges and universities in China, especially those in ethnic minority areas.
