苹果巢虫在省内果园每年都有发生,比较普遍,严重的影响果树产量。巢虫危害期正是果树开花盛期,不能使用化学农药,所以急需筛选出一种对花无害的高效药剂。经试验证明,7216是目前较为理想的防治苹果巢虫的药剂。7216生物杀虫剂是湖北省天门县微生物研究所从自然死亡的越冬红铃虫体中分离出一株能形成伴孢晶体的芽孢杆菌。该菌株繁殖力强,具有苏芸金杆菌的典型特征,伴孢晶体大,多呈短麦型,菌落圆形,表面粗糙,属于苏芸金杆菌一个新变种(Bacielusthurinqiensisvar tbanmensis)1977年,我所由省农科院引入菌种,采用土法生产粉剂,当年在苹果巢虫和天幕毛虫上做了室内杀虫效果试验。7216与引入的其它几种苏芸金杆菌相比较。杀虫效果显著。因此,78~79年由上海川沙县引来菌粉效价60亿/克,分别在盆栽山丁子上和田间果园做小面积试验。1980年进入中间试验。
