长江是一条具有优良自然条件的航道。干支流有不同航深的通航里程达9600公里。其中干流即长达6300公里,因而被人们称为黄金水道。但遗憾的是,长期以来,未能充分发挥它的自然优势,更没有人工地加以有计划的整治(除了川江宜渝段有局部炸礁整治工程外)。回顾一下长江航运的历史过程,结合我国自然资源和社会条件,展望今后的发展,对四化建设还是有一定意义的。
The Yangtze River is a fairway with excellent natural conditions. Dry tributaries have different depth of navigation mileage of 9600 kilometers. Among them, the main stream is 6,300 km long, which is called golden waterway. However, it has unfortunately regrettably failed to give full play to its natural advantages for a long period of time and has even failed to carry out planned renovations (except for the partial reef remediation works at the Yicheng section of Chuanjiang River). Reviewing the history of the Yangtze River shipping process, combined with China’s natural resources and social conditions, and looking forward to the future development of the four modernizations or have some significance.
