九届全国人大第24次常委会议通过《中华人民共和国工会法》修正案已近一年了。《工会法》明确规定,维护职工合法权益是工会的基本职责。今年以来,各级工会高举邓小平理论伟大旗帜,全面贯彻“三个代表”的重要思想,积极推动《工会法》的实施,围绕党和国家的全局工作,落实工会的基本职责,一手抓机制建设,一手抓为职工办实事,工作取得了很好的成效。 工会工作必须服从服务于大局。这个大局就是不断推进我国的改革开放和现代化建设,促进生产力的发展,促进社会主义文化的发展,在社会不断发展进步的基础上,使人民群众不断获得切实的经济、政治、文化利益。工会工作服从服务于大局,就要在维护全国人民总体利益的同时,维护好职工的合法权益,从而调动、发挥和保护好广大职工群众建设社会主义事业的积极性和创造性,推动我国经济快速健康发展,实现社会主义生产的根本目的——不断满足人民群众日益增长的物质文化需求。
